Event Details
The Nexas Quartet is thrilled to launch their CD ‘Current’ in the Sydney Opera House’s Utzon Room.
This recording is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication from the ensemble and is a reflection of their collaborations with leading Australian composers. Featuring music from national treasures Hindson, Kats-Chernin, Orlovich, Rojas and Skipworth this recording demonstrates the versatility of Nexas and their desire to promote unique Australian compositional voices.
As a special bonus to the launch of ‘Current’ one of the world’s great operatic stars Peter Coleman-Wright will join the quartet on stage as a special guest. This unique collaboration will provide a glimpse of what is in store for the ensemble in 2017 with a presentation of classic songs influenced by the Weimar Republic.
Featured non-Australian music: Kurt Weill
