Event Details

Daniel Blinkhorn earthworks
3 new works for electroacoustic materials and saxophone by composers working at the nexus of new music and environmental sound. Whilst stylistically very different, each composer forms a special relationship with the materials they use, articulating aspects of nature in exceedingly abstract, yet often easily recognisable and highly engaging ways.

Timothy Franklin visions of a broken city (saxophone & electronics)
This entirely improvised program comments on modern life – and the Western world’s ‘military/industrial complex’ masquerading as consumerism. Taking a deconstructionist, modernist perspective on the always relevant issues of isolation, culture, spiritualism, and greed, this program will appeal to both natives and disconnected observers of this strange, increasingly dystopian concrete jungle we live in.

Featured non-Australian music: Burtner
