Event Details
Internationally renowned percussionist Claire Edwardes brings her vitality to Flinders Quartet's stage for a program inspired by the energy of dance. Piazzolla’s tango masterpieces will have you dancing down the aisles before we bring you back to the uniquely Australian sound world of Ross Edwards’s Arafura Arioso. We celebrate the golden years of Russian romanticism in Borodin’s Quartet No. 2 and present an exciting new arrangement by Jessica Wells of Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet for percussion and string quartet.
Performers: Helen Ayres - violin, Cameron Hill - guest violin, Helen Ireland - viola, Zoe Knighton - cello, Claire Edwardes - percussion
Featured non-Australian music: Piazzolla's Tango Ballet, Libertango & Oblivion, & Borodin String Quartet No. 2 in D major
