Emerging Australian composer and bassist, Joseph Franklin, will be launching an album of original new music under the moniker, Franklin.
A collaboration with pianist Ollie McGill of The Cat Empire and featuring acclaimed saxophonist Jamie Oehlers, as well as one of the countries most in-demand drummers, Dave Beck.
The album, Rites, will be launched tonight at The Jazzlab with a special guest performance by contrabass soloist Nick Tsiavos.
Nick Tsiavos is a bassist and composer whose work operates at the intersections of a number of cultural boundaries: from 6th century chant to contemporary minimalism and experimental improvisation.
