- Date: Wednesday, 11 November 2009, 8pm
- Venue: St John's Cathedral, Brisbane — 373 Ann St, Brisbane, QLD
This special concert is a time to reflect on those whom we have lost. It is no coincidence that the concert occurs on Remembrance Day as we remember those who have fallen in times of war as well as those who have left us in times of peace. The glorious St John’s Cathedral, Ann Street Brisbane, seems a fitting place to remember those no longer with us.
As well as the Australian Ross Edwards’s Missa Alchera – Mass of the Dreaming, there will also be works by international composers Michael Tippett, Healey Willan, Richard Lloyd and William Harris. There will also be premiere performances of new works by local composer Paul-Antoni Bonetti, including one work specifically composed for this In Memoriam concert.
Featured non-Australian music: Michael Tippett, Healey Willan, Richard Lloyd, William Harris
