New music lovers won’t want to miss Inner Worlds, which includes not one, but three brand new works. Cellist Umberto Clerici will join pianist Ben Kopp for a recital of contemporary Australian music.
Australian composer Anne Boyd presents a new work commissioned by the CSO, while the rising star composer Harry Sdraulig is commissioned by Ars Musica Australis.
We’re also thrilled to present a new work for cello and piano by the winner of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s Sue W Chamber Music Composition Prize, which supports female composers in their career aspirations.
Inner Worlds will also feature music by two of Australia’s international superstar composers — Brett Dean’s Eleven Oblique Strategies for solo cello and Carl Vine’s Inner World for amplified cello and tape.
The Australian Series is curated by Professor Matthew Hindson AM and presented by Singapore Airlines, in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery.
