Keller-Murphy-Browne debuted in 2003 at the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival, when acoustic bassist Tamara Murphy teamed up with experienced drummer Allan Browne and pianist/composer Andrea Keller, in a subtle trio. Their special alchemy has been captured on their acclaimed debut CD, Carried by the Sun (Jazzhead). They perform mostly original compositions by all three members, along with some standards and free improvisations. Their focus is on achieving a collective consciousness by pushing the boundaries of their musical dialogue. From 2006 this trio increased their national profile with performances in Sydney for SIMA and at the Wangarratta Jazz Festival. This concert will be part of a two-night recording session for their second album.
