Featured artists include: Desiree Regina (mezzo-soprano, Netherlands), Duo Deconet (violin and piano –Venezuela & Mexico), Yyani Rose (Australian jazz vocalist), Australian woodwind and rhythm professionals performing the jazz influenced works, and captivating performances by the internationally acclaimed composer herself.
Margaret’s music is published internationally and her music has been performed and recorded world-wide. She has received many accolades and awards for her contributions to music. These include the 2007 Inner West TrueLocal Business Professional Service Award, for services to music, World Piano Teacher’s Association Diploma of Excellence 2012 and World Forum’s Distinguished Intellectual Contribution award 2012. Over the years, Margaret Brandman has had a close connection with the Blue Mountains and Penrith environs. In 1996 she was commissioned to compose the theme song for the Penrith City Festival and a piece of her piano music Evanescence was included in the tapestry that records the history of women in the district. She also performed in Penrith with the 'Kings of Swing' Big Band for the Children’s Charity Ball in December 2011. With local Penrith personality and radio host, Ross Hutchison, as Master of Ceremonies, this promises to be a spectacular evening of music, so bring your family and friends to be part of this exciting cultural event.
