Event Details

Australian Music Day (AMD) is MLC School’s annual composition day, featuring the very best of Australian contemporary music. AMD 2018 will present two separate programs catering to the wide range of interests of students who take elective music, including HSC Music 1, Music 2 and IB Music. Students will hear live performances of the music by professional musicians and will learn about the creative process in a workshop setting. Students will have the opportunity to write their own music to be performed by the musicians and receive expert feedback.

An accompanying AMD 2018 education resource provides in-depth analysis of the music and brings out students’ creative potential through score reading, analysis and composition exercises.

Attendance can be on either Thursday 2 August or Friday 3 August 2018.

Performers: Sydney Symphony Fellows; Nexas Saxophone Quartet; Sally Whitwell; Zubin Kanga; Rhyan Clapham
