Event Details
After two wonderful years, Music in the Round returns to the Abbotsford Convent this Father’s Day. Presented by the Abbotsford Convent Foundation with Artistic Director Chris Howlett, this event showcases Australia’s leading and emerging classical musicians in the Convent’s unconventional spaces. This year, Music in the Round presents its largest program to date, with 26 musicians performing 12 concerts across four historic venues. Audiences are invited to curate their own unique concert experience. This year’s program transcends 300 years of music, from J.S. Bach to Gordon Kerry, bringing together much-loved composers with rare and contemporary works. There will be a free outdoor program and children’s concerts and an array of delicious food options.
Featured non-Australian music: Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Ravel, Brahms, Weiland, Vasks, Beethoven, Prokofiev, Ibert, Schubert, Lang et al.
