Alongside premiering a new work for the quartet by highly acclaimed Australian composer, Robert Davidson, MGQ will also perform one of the most influential and trailblazing works ever written for the ‘guitar family’, composed by Phillip Houghton.
Again teaming up with the remarkable Ron Murray (didgeridoo) this concert undoubtedly captures the spirit of what it is to be a ‘Local Hero’, as it celebrates some of the country’s greatest composers and artists.
The program will also premiere new arrangements of works by Ligeti and Britten for the guitar family.
