Event Details
Our final concert features a more relaxed presentation, introductions to the works and a range of well-known, accessible music suitable for all the family to enjoy. From the majestic chords of Wagner's Tannhauser Overture to the brilliance of Anderson's Sleigh Ride, there is something for everyone! We are also pleased to be joined by 2MBS Fine Music Young Virtuoso winner Teresa Yang. She will perform the first movement of Mozart's charming first violin concerto, as well as the spectacular Carmen Fantasie by Franz Waxman. The concert also features the incredibly exciting LiteSPEED by Australian composer Matthew Hindson. This work is a short version of his famous 'Speed', full of driving rhythmns and jazzy melodies. Bizet's much loved L'Arlésienne Suite rounds out the program.
Featured non-Australian music: Wagner: Tannhauser Overture; Mozart: Violin Concert No.1 (1st mov't); Waxman: Carmen Fantasie; Bizet: L'Arlesienne Suites (excerpts); Anderson: Sleigh Ride
