PAUL CUTLAN STRING PROJECT: LIVING
In association with SIMA

“The composing and improvising are of equal merit – some achievement for such an ambitious genre-defying project.” – John Shand, SMH

Developed between Australia’s catastrophic bushfires in January 2020 and the onset of the global pandemic in March, Paul Cutlan’s String Project’s new album, Living, traces a narrative which traverses human life and its myriad experiences in compositions by Cutlan himself, Gary Daley, Jann Rutherford, John Coltrane and Jenna Cave. The album serves as an antidote to the shock and trauma of this time as well as an affirmation of continuing existence of life.

With his uniquely expressive voice as a woodwind specialist and composer Paul Cutlan will share with you an afternoon of his inspiring music.
