Event Details

Ensemble Offspring traces the avant garde legacy of Iannis Xenakis in Plekto (Braids) – a virtuosic and adventurous selection of seldom heard chamber music for sextet from around the globe. The program features Charisma and Plekto by Iannis Xenakis, Kaija Saariaho’s Oi kuu, Beat Furrer’s Lied, The Riot from the recently departed Jonathan Harvey, Australian Anthony Pateras’s Broken Then Fixed Then Broken and a world premiere by Mexican born Juan-Felipe Waller. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience these intertwining works spanning three generations of heavy hitting compositional voices.

Featured non-Australian music: Iannis Xenakis – Charisma, Kaija Saariaho – Oi kuu, Beat Furrer – Lied (Aust premiere), Jonathan Harvey – The Riot (Aust premiere), Juan Felipe Waller – new work (world premiere), Iannis Xenakis - Plekto
