Event Details

PLEXUS brings together the talents of three of Australia’s most vibrant and versatile musicians, violinist Monica Curro, clarinetist Philip Arkinstall and pianist Stefan Cassomenos, with the goal of commissioning and celebrating Australian and international composers.

The ensemble is devoted to engaging an ever growing network of exceptional artists, celebrating their contribution to Australia’s rich and diverse cultural landscape.

Tracing parallels between diverse, youthful memories, guest soprano Merlyn Quaife collaborates with PLEXUS for a performance of Knoxville: Summer of 1915 by Samuel Barber arranged by Stefan Cassomenos. Sebastian Currier’s Verge, which takes inspiration from one of Schumann’s Scenes from Childhood, continues the theme of idyllic, childhood nostalgia. Presented alongside these landmark pieces are three fresh new works and world premieres from Australian composers Connor D’Netto, Catherine Likhuta and Peggy Polias.
