Quiver is a group of young musicians who are quickly establishing themselves at the forefront of contemporary music in Melbourne. Quiver are passionate about contemporary art music, experimental improvisation and interdisciplinary practice. The four core players are also co-directors who share a dedication to innovative programming and close composer-performer collaboration. Their debut concert on July 31, which will focus on works that break down the timbral barriers between instruments. The concert will feature two world premieres, by Australian experimental music legend Warren Burt and emerging Melbourne composer Luke Paulding, both of whom have distinct and innovative approaches to instrumental colour.
Performers: Aviva Endean (clarinets), Jess Fotinos (harp), Matthias Schack-Arnott (percussion), Rebecca Lane (flutes), Luke Paulding (piano/tuba), Zac Johnston (violin).
