Co-led by tenor saxophonist Rob Burke and piano master Tony Gould, with the rhythm team of bassist Nick Haywood and drummer Tony Floyd, the Burke-Gould Quartet launch Live at Bennetts Lane, their third release (on Jazzhead) and first live recording. Comprising a selection of tracks recorded over three years, it brings together the focus on the development of group empathy and captures their definite live ensemble sound at its best.
The selection of tracks was guided by the creativity within the performances of the group, and features compositions by Rodgers and Hart, and Cole Porter alongside compositions by the Quartet.
