Adelaide Chamber Singers
Carl Crossin / director

ROSS EDWARDS / Mountain Chant
PAUL STANHOPE / Deserts of Exile
MICHAEL NYMAN / Miserere
ADRIANO BANCHIERI / Madrigals from Il Zabaione Musicale

The Adelaide Chamber Singers have been a passionate and innovative contributor to Australian music making for over twenty-six years. Formed in 1985 by Artistic Director and Conductor Carl Crossin, the ensemble comprises some of Adelaide’s best and most experienced ensemble singers, some of whom are also emerging artists or conductors in their own right.

Today the singers take us on a journey through the sacred and the profane. After surveying the Australian landscape with Ross Edwards and Paul Stanhope, they perform Michael Nyman’s Miserere from The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover. The concert concludes with a selection from the wonderfully entertaining madrigal comedy Il Zabaione Musicale, or ‘A Musical Pudding’: a feast of love, passion and fun in the Italian Renaissance style.

Featured non-Australian music: Nyman, Banchieri
