As unforgettable as hearing your first symphony orchestra in a concert hall, hearing exhilarating jazz and improvised music in an intimate live club environment is an essential experience for music students.
Multi-award winning saxophonist and composer Sandy Evans OAM explores the place where Indian music intersects with jazz in a fusion of cultural styles. The result is an intoxicating combination of soulful melodies, spontaneous improvisations, stunning percussion solos and hypnotic grooves.
Featuring world music master Bobby Singh, the ensemble demonstrates how Carnatic (South Indian Classical) music can help jazz musicians explore rhythm through this interactive concert and workshop.
