In this spectacular show, Steel City Strings joins forces with South Coast Big Band, filling the hall with music from a variety of different styles including Classical, Blues, Jazz and Film music. This is a rare experience that should not be missed.Steel City Strings is a truly unique not-for-profit chamber orchestra of local musicians bringing the highest quality chamber music to the Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands. The orchestra has been delighting local audiences for the last four years, showcasing the great classical works for string orchestra and featuring local soloists, choirs, and composers.

South Coast Big Band is the premier jazz orchestra in the region made up of 5 woodwinds, 8 brass and 4 part rhythm section and Gillian Meers’ soaring voice.  They are celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2019 and are releasing their debut album featuring tunes primarily written and arranged by the band members.

This not-to-be-missed event will feature George Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’, Bob Brookmeyer’s Music for String Quartet and Orchestra – Fanfare and Folksongs, as well as music from Judy Bailey, Joni Mitchell and much more.
