Combining music and poetry that spans centuries and the globe, Still Night: Music in Poetry centres around a song cycle composed by Andrea Keller that brings together vocalists Gian Slater and Vince Jones in a meditation on omnipresent sentiments concerning death, grief and loss. Inspired by the notion that “meditating on a beautiful expression of sadness can help to provide a thoroughly uplifting sense of consolation” (Robert White in the liner notes of John Dowland’s ‘In Darkness Let Me Dwell’), ‘Still Night’ creates a dialogue on this delicate topic through beautiful music.
