Event Details
The alcohotlicks are a Sydney-based band formed in the later part of 2002, featuring 1st & 2nd place winners at the 2007 Wangaratta Festival of Jazz National Jazz Guitar Awards - Aaron Flower and Ben Hauptmann. The instrumentation of the band is unique, comprising two electric guitars and drummer, Evan Mannell.
With the first two years spent writing and performing in the local Sydney Jazz scene the alcohotlicks have now written over thirty compositions and released two self-produced live recordings. In late 2007 the alcohotlicks were commissioned by ABC Classic FM to record a feature for Jazztrack with Mal Stanley. Performance highlights include the Jazz:Now festival (Sydney Opera House 2004 and 2008), Stonnington Jazz Festival (Melbourne 2005) and the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz 2007.
