A dynamic afternoon of heightened celebration as the Sydney Sacred Music Festival comes to a transcendent close. In the superb acoustic space of the Turbine Hall, our program includes a soulful selection of sacred chant and three exciting new works by young composers Butros Tourky (ANU School of Music), Rhys Little and Elizabeth Cheung (Sydney Conservatorium of Music). Presented by Sydney Sacred Music Festival In partnership with Casula Powerhouse, Sydney Conservatorium of Music and Western Sydney University.
Performers: Noriko Shimada (principal contrabassoon, Sydney Symphony Orchestra); Leonid Volovelsky (viola, Sydney Symphony Orchestra); Judgment of Paris Recorder Ensemble (directed by Peter Petocz); Sydney Trombone Choir (directed by Amy McCarthy); Nadia Piave (soprano); Elizabeth Cheung (flute, hulusi); Nicholas Ng (hulusi, erhu).
