Event Details

The Modern Day Saxophone will be presented by saxophonists Matt Hinchliffe and Ali Fyffe. It will feature a number of modern works for the saxophone, including two world premieres and three Australian premieres. This concert showcases the saxophone and the varied ways it is used by composers today - as a solo instrument and in various ensembles; pieces of endless notes and pieces of pure sound effects; exploring new colours and languages and reaching back to more traditional material. In keeping with the innovative and international nature of the classical saxophone, this concert will also be streamed live at: http://www.themoderndaysaxophone.com.au

Performers: Ali Fyffe - Saxophones; Matt Hinchliffe - Saxophones; Peter Neville - Percussion; Leigh Harrold - Piano; Kay Zhang - Saxophones; Michellina Chan - Saxophone; Peter Wilson - Piano; Stuart Fisher - Guitar; Katie Clarke - Flute
