Event Details

The Team of Pianists, four internationally respected and award-winning pianists are presenting an exhilarating recital ranging from Bach to Vine to mark a significant milestone and triumphant return to Melba Hall on Wednesday May 1. During the concert, the Team’s members, Max Cooke, Robert Chamberlain, Rohan Murray and Darryl Coote will share the stage with mezzo-soprano, Sally-Anne Russell – one of Australia’s finest operatic voices. She has chosen to sing moving music by Spanish composer, Xavier Monstalvatge and American, Jake Heggie. Heggie, is known for his opera Moby Dick which was recently performed in Adelaide.

Celebrating his 50th birthday on this night, one of the Team of Pianists founders, Darryl Coote, will perform various works for two pianists by giant of the piano repertoire, Rachmaninoff complimenting masterpieces by Nin and Infante with his distinguished partners, Max Cooke and Robert Chamberlain.

Coote says, “We enjoy performing in beautiful concert halls and we look forward to playing in Melba Hall on Wednesday night - it’s been a while and will be like visiting an old friend”.

Completing the evening, the Team’s newest member Rohan Murray, will perform Australian composer, Carl Vine’s energetic Piano Sonata no.3, an entertaining and virtuosic composition sure to impress the audience.
