THE CONSORT OF MELBOURNE is pleased to present the third concert in its 2012 subscription series. This concert is supported by the City of Melbourne through the 2012 Arts Grants Program. The programme includes three new Australian works by Andrew Anderson, Calvin Bowman and Megan Nelson; with Anderson’s and Nelson’s works making their world premiere. Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Chorus Master Jonathan Grieves-Smith will direct the Consort of Melbourne in music by Samuel Barber, Benjamin Britten and CHH Parry, as well as the first Australian performance of the contemporary Latvian choral masterpiece, Ugis Praulinš’ ‘Missa Rigensis’. Jonathan Grieves-Smith appears by kind permission of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
