Event Details
Piano and Guitar improvisation come together lyrically in this close impromptu performance by two of Australia’s finest jazz musicians. A magical hour of improvisation is awaiting you.
Tony Gould is one of Australia’s most revered pianists and respected musicians and Australia’s first professor of jazz. For five decades he has been involved in an extraordinary number of recording projects both as pianist and composer and has been at the forefront of music education in Australia. His career has embraced many styles of music, not least jazz and other improvisatory musics in addition to traditional and contemporary classical musics.
Peter Petrucci is among Australia’s leading jazz guitarists and is recognised for his virtuosity and lyricism in improvisations and compositions. He has released seven fine albums of original music to date, and has appeared on over 30 recordings as guest artist. Peter has performed locally and internationally at prominent jazz festivals and during a seven month residency in New York, Peter studied with renowned guitarists John Scofield, Jim Hall and Pat Martino.
