Event Details
Tripataka performs original compositions by the band members and unique arrangements of jazz repertoire. Jazz repertoire by Thelonious Monk, Steve Coleman, and George Gershwin are re-imagined in a landscape where odd metres, rhythmic stratafication and bitonality collide to create a rich and stimulating tapestry. Drawing inspiration from North- and South-Indian Classical music, the band performs original compositions that are rhythmically charged and swoop deftly across cyclical forms.
