Event Details

Far Beyond is the gathering of many years of playing and composing by its Chilean born leader Fabian Hevia. The music draws from the rich musical tapestries of South America and the influences of Jazz. Collectively, these great musicians bring a unique vibrancy to the compositions of Fabian Hevia. The overall rhythmic concept of Far Beyond deals with the subtleties of the micro-rhythmic world. The music leans on the folkloric rhythms of Latin America. Its unique essence is descriptive of feeling and depth. This ensemble brings together a wealth of experience across musical genres to the ears of a discerning audience.

This virtuoso Mexican harpist is a walking encyclopaedia of Latin music, past and present. Victor Valdes has redefined the harp as a solo and lead instrument in a multitude of musical contexts. He's played with everyone from Angus & Julia Stone and Los Lobos to Jimmy Barnes, and appeared on folk, world music, rock and blues festival stages Australia-wide. As a solo harpist Victor has performed in 25 countries worldwide. He has appeared at Bluesfest, Bellingen Global Carnival, National Folk Festival Canberra, Woodford Folk Festival, Womadelaide, Adelaide Cabaret Festival and on many other major stages.
