The sixth night of SIMA's Winter Jazz series presents Australian jazz legend Judy Bailey (OAM) leading double bassist Craig Scott and Tim Firth in the Judy Bailey Trio. Judy is one of this country's earliest and most prominent female jazz musicians and a Jazz Hall of Fame inductee. The Trio's highly interactive performance will treat you to many of Judy’s original compositions and look afresh at some wonderful jazz standards. A special opening treat will be provided by Jane Irving (USA) and Kevin Hailey, performing lesser known songs from The Great American Songbook such as the satirical work of composers Dave Frishberg, Sheldon Harnick and Blossom Dearie.
