Come out of the cold and warm your heart with Hourglass Ensemble’s delightful concert “Winter Wonderland”. The programme moves from entertaining classics through to exciting and clarifying new music; Ross Edwards’ fabulous flute duo Ecstatic Dances and a world premiere by Adam Porebski, celebrating the beauty and pathos of Polish folk music. Wintertime brings wistfulness and fantasy, with Debussy’s impressionist Footsteps in the Snow and Bertoni’s sweet tale, Dialogue between the Bear and the Nightingale. Guest soprano Susannah Lawergren sings some of Schubert’s most intimate songs from Winter’s Journey. Hourglass’ wintry musical experience, sometimes jagged, often playful, will lift your spirit and inspire your soul.
