World Harp Congress

The program of the 12th World Harp Congress in Sydney on 20-26 July includes a world premiere by a new work Harp Mantras by Ross Edwards for the Seven Harp Ensemble and William Barton (opening gala concert on Sunday 20 July), a sound installation Windharps for Australian harpists and harps by Ros Bandt (world premiere at midday on Monday 21 July at the Grand Ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel, the Rocks, Sydney), as well as chamber music concerts featuring Australian works. The Sydney Symphony concert with Lee Bracegirdle's concerto (Louise Johnson as soloist, Simone Young conducting) also forms part of the conference program - for details, see the event on 25 July.
A panel about Australian contemporary composition will be chaired by harpist Marshall McGuire on 24 July.
