Product details

(A)Biotic Forces for solo prepared guitar is part of a series of works that explore abiotic factors (nonbiological factors that affect biological processes) that decentre the human composer and performer, and challenge human-centric understandings of creative agency. This work is a reflection of the land and water of Gippsland, in the Gunaikurnai nation, where I grew up. I transcribed, transferred, transposed the work from my solo contrabass guitar practice. This transference of material from bodies to bodies, situatedness to situatedness, and context to context, is a process of expanding my solo bass practice to include performers, instruments, and ensembles.
