The piece is an arrangement of "Epilogue: To David", Mvt VII from my song cycle, Winter Came Early (2022), for Soprano, Mezzo Soprano and Piano (texts by Georgina Lewis and by Catherine Lewis), the text for which comprises a love letter written by a woman on her deathbed to her husband, and includes the following quote from Psalm 119:105:

"Your word is a lamp for my feet.
A light on my path."
