Like water tracing the curves of a winding river, Bending River flows between contrasting musical terrains. The trumpet and piano engage in a shifting dialogue-at times lyrical and spacious, at other times pulsing and rhythmic-each taking turns to lead the current, shape the direction, and carve out the banks.
The piece moves between two distinct musical worlds: one tender and melodic, the other energetic and driving. These shifts are not abrupt but fluid, as if the music itself is meandering through changing landscapes-sometimes reflecting still skies, other times rushing past jagged stone.
The river bends, the melody bends, the roles bend. Yet at every turn, the connection between trumpet and piano remains-intertwined, responsive, and in motion. Bending River is a sonic journey of contrast and convergence, flow and force, conversation and current.
