Product details

Colloque vif was written in 1997 at the request of London based flute and guitar duo, Les Rossignols (Ian Judson fl.; Joseph Asghar gt.). I was asked to write a short piece which, whilst remaining true to my own stylistic tendencies, nonetheless evoked a lively Latin-American idiom. Being a life long fan of Latin-American music (I still haven't quite recovered from the Baden Powell sequence in the 1966 Claude Lelouch film Un homme et une femme), I decided to take up the challenge. The piece was premiered in November 1997 at the Conway Hall in London and later performances include The Purcell Room at London's South Bank Centre.
