Product details

A playful amateur musical on the theme of a woman's choice. Set in the 1920s, the music ranges through many pastiches of musical genres and moods. There are 18 songs (about 40 minutes spread between solos, duets, trios and ensemble) ranging over various combinations of what the perrenial plot-driver of what the heroine will do.There is a distinct Commonwealth tinge to the silly plot and characters. The audience gets to vote on the ending.

I look back at this project now as one which I enjoyed as a first year composition student and gave me some background in music theatre work for my later chamber opera, The Portrait which also deals with the topic of women's choices. Must be something I care about!
