Sheet Music: ScoreDrunken Sailor : for guitar duet / Meredith Connie.by Meredith Connie (2024)

Product details
Early settler history in Australia is dominated by alcohol and what better way to explore that than a childhood sea chanty of utter brutality - but one that is also oh-so-catchy and was so much fun to sing as a kid: "What shall we do with the drunken sailor?"
I wondered at the time what it means to be keel-hauled. For those of you who aren't familiar with keel-hauling, you tie a rope around the person to be punished and pull him from one side of the boat to the other under the water. Often the sailor didn't drown. And arguably preferable to making the journey in steerage or in chains.
