Product details

'El Primer Viaje' or 'The First Journey' utilizes a series of five recordings conducted on the Nave-Moto Verdi on Tuesday, 22nd of February, 1971. The geographical location is the Atlantic Ocean, and somewhere between the ports of Cristóbal (Panama) and Cartagena (Colombia). The point of departure for 'The First Journey' is Valparaíso (Chile), while the final destination is Genova (Italy). After purchasing a cassette recorder in the port of Cristóbal, Aleksander Pertout decides to test it out by recording conversations with various members of the Pertout family, not realizing that this will have a sentimental significance three decades on. Italy is the country that the Pertout family hopes to adopt, and being multilingual Aleksander speaks the romance language at every opportunity, although the principal language spoken throughout the recordings is Spanish, with inclusions of Portuguese, Russian and English.
