Texts adapted by the composer from epitaphs from Australian seaside graveyards

Original version of Dead Songs (Opus 45) was composed in Woonona, July 1993 and is scored for soprano, clarinet, cello and piano and is a cycle of 9 songs of about 35 minutes duration. This version is for high voice (soprano or tenor) and piano only and is an arrangement of four of the original songs from Dead Songs. The work was undertaken in Sydney, in November to December 2010.
