Sheet Music: ScoreFull Moon : for large orchestra / Barry Conyngham.by Barry Conyngham (2024)
|
Product details
The idea for this piece comes from the structure, moods and feelings in a Japanese Haiku by Matsuo Bashō. Here are three translations:
The autumn full moon
all night long I paced round the lake.
R.H.Blyth
Harvest Moon
around the pond wander
and the night is gone.
Harold G. Henderson
Bright moon
I stroll around the pond
hey, dawn has come!
Lucien Stryk
Much is suggested by the three images in the original text. The endless fascination with the full moon. Its surface. Its impact. The poet's reflection on the moon. The moon's reflection in the pond. The full moon appears, huge and fascinating over the horizon at dusk, and sets just as the sun rises.
