Product details
'Görüsmeler' or 'Conversations' refers to musical conversations, and interactional musicality that is guided by both conventional strict metric notation and the improvisational notations of indeterminacy. This in effect generating the characteristic soundscape that is 'appassionato e libero' or 'impassioned and free', with phrasal breaths left to the discretion of the performers, yet compositionally structured enough to orally suggest a contemporary notated musical art form rather than an improvisational one. Another significant compositional tool adopted is the use of 'sempre sim. (con variazioni)' or 'always similar (with variations)' instruction for the percussionists, which is employed in the design in the hope that it will deliver the more natural results of non-classical contemporary traditions rather than simply a compromising artificial notation presenting the player with bar after bar of rhythmic jargon to decipher. An important point to note is that due to the fact that the piece contains numerous indeterminate elements, the total duration remains in the control of the individual performance.
