Heart Songs is the debut album of award-winning Australian film composer Cassie To. For many years Cassie's work has accompanied the stories and relationships of characters on screen. With Heart Songs, she crafts her own narrative. This collection of pieces are a score to deeply personal scenes from Cassie's own life: from wedding ceremonies to intergenerational family life; the arrival of newborn nephews. Entering a new decade, Cassie returned to her first instrument, the piano, to help work through the struggles of late night rumination, anxiety, imposter syndrome, climate grief, the overwhelm of geo-political unrest.
