Product details
This work is a meditation on David Whyte's contemplation of maturity; the idea that maturity is a choice to live concurrently in the past, present and future. This piece is broadly structured in 3 equal parts to reflect those states; In perpetuum as a title refers to an inner life, the consistent evolving relationship between each of those states. I like to think that that evolving nature reflects an idea that within a work as in life a relationship with one state can inform the relationship with another.
This work was written for the Affinity Quartet, and generously commissioned by Kingsley Gee.
It will be premiered at the ANAM Quartetthaus season at Royal Albert Hall in London in September 2022.
