Product details
L'oiseau fantastique was written in early 1984. The work is the first in the series that takes its title from a scene in the French film, Diva (1981), in which the to main characters laughingly describe an elaborate mechanical bird as "l'oiseau fantastique," or a fantastic bird.
This two movement work draws on minimalist approaches to organisation of ideas and the slow passage of time with the electronic or chamber organ part providing a slow textural horizon of harmony throughout.
