Simon Reade played me his piece
King Solomon's Cave when we met up in
France in winter 2024.
I had been writing a fair bit of music for brassband and other
chamber music
with palawa kani
names although my own genes are traceable to English, Scottish &
German cultures only. Culure is though, of course, irrelevant
concerning human DNA - so choose your culture!
I flatly refuse to name my piece in accordance with Simon's unintended but nevertheless "imperial" nomenclature preferring instead to suggest the name of a neighbouring cave, Marakoopa, which I visited a few decades ago while still living in lutruwita.
