Sheet Music: ScoreMasquerade : concerto for flute and orchestra / John Spence.by John Spence (2013)

Product details
Maquerade for flute and orchestra captures the passion and energy of Venice. The first movement expounds a world of enthusiasm, drama, surprise, intrigue, intimate interaction and plenty of chasing going on. At one point the orchestra returns to restate the opening theme and the flute is mysteriously missing. As the orchestra dies away, the flute enters with a cadenza that includes the orchestral parts as well as the flute part. The second movement is a dance based on the Lombard style of Northern Italy during the 18th century. The final movement commences in a more reflective mood but then finds a way to return to energy and passion that rivals the first movement.
