Product details
Written in 2000, the Melody belongs to a group of free compositions for solo stringed instruments that were influenced by the music of Russian Jewish cantors from the early part of the last century. In the Melody, the contrast of different registers evokes the presence of more than one solo voice in the synagogue. The Melody was written for Zina Schiff, who gave the first performance as part of her Internet broadcast from Seattle 7 May 2001.
