Product details
Mikri Thalassa was commissioned and written for The Sydney Mandolins. The title is from the Greek and translates to Little Sea. One of the influences which inspired the writing of this work was Greek folk song, in particular song from the island of Kalymnos in the Dodecanese. Another influence was the Greek community in which I have lived for many years and the music I often enjoyed hearing sung and played by our Greek neighbours.
