Product details
... hypnotic rhythms inspired by the vastness of the Australian
desert ...
Robert Lloyd's brightly coloured dances for keyboards and
percussion are an exciting synthesis of shimmerring vibraphones
and marimbas, melodic drumming and percussive pianos weaving
together to create a genuine cross-cultural intercourse of
American minimalist and Balinese gamelan music.
Lloyd's music finds its poetry in the combining, recombining,
reconstructing and deconstructing of complex rhythms. 'Nullarbor'
is a dance work inspired by the vastness of the Nullarbor desert.
There is a strong relation between the topography of the
Nullarbor and Lloyd's scores, with their seemless rhythms and a
sense of endlessness and isolation.
